At Adulting 101, our mission is to prepare high school seniors for the realities of life after graduation by equipping them with practical tools and essential legal protections. From Advance Directives that empower parents to step in during emergencies, to financial strategies and insurance basics that set students on a path to independence, we bridge the gap between adolescence and adulthood.

Why Do You Need Advance Directives?
Parents/guardians need Advance Directives because without them, they may be blocked from:
- Making medical decisions in an emergency.
- Accessing medical records (HIPAA restrictions).
- Handling insurance claims or disputes.
- Assisting with financial accounts or student loans.

Adulting 101 is proudly underwritten by Ledbetter Cowan Law Group, a Venice-based law firm devoted to Estate Planning, Probate, and Real Estate Law. By covering the program’s administrative and legal costs, the firm makes it possible for families to receive Advance Directives—normally a $750 service—for just $200 through this workshop.
